What's on Stage in MI Great Lakes Bay

Award-winning and top-rated performances are coming to MI Great Lakes Bay this week! The Tony Award winning show, Ave. Q, is now playing at the MCFTA. Meanwhile, the Celtic music band Millish is coming to Bay City with its energetic performance at State Theatre of Bay CityThe Bay City Players will kick off its 2013 season with the tremendous dark comedy, And Miss Reardon Drinks a Little on January 18.

If you grow up with Sesame Street and are kind of missing the time you watched Big Birds and Cookie Monster singing and dancing while you were a kid, Ave. Q may bring those good times back…well, in an “adult” way. The Tony Award triple-crown winning puppet show, Ave. Q, is now playing at the Midland Center for the Arts.  Get ready for this Broadway hits and laugh out loud!

The Ave. Q talks about a recent college grad named Princeton who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. There, he meets other friends who help him finally discover his purpose in life!

The Ave. Q is the winner of the Tony "Triple Crown" for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book. Book by Jeff Whitty. Music and lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx. Directed by Bill Anderson Jr.

Millish Celtic Concert

If you had a great time or you are still regretting missing Millish’s last concert at Bay City, don’t miss this time! The Celtic music band Millish is returning Bay City and will take the stage at the State Theatre of Bay City on January 19.

The Millish’s music has been highly rated by Celtic music lovers, and its high energetic shows have not only performed at various festivals and concerts in the U.S. but also in many Europe countries such as Ireland and Germany.

Paul Zindel's dark comedy, And Miss Readon Drinks a Little, explores the relationship between three very different sisters, Ceil, Catherine, and Anna, after the death of their mother in the early 1960s. Ceil wants sister Catherine to join with her in seeing sister Anna is institutionalized. But Catherine has no reason to aid Ceil, especially since Ceil married her boyfriend. Anna knows something is up but is too fascinated by her own health to pay attention to those two. And besides, Anna thinks Catherine is the one who needs help, since she drinks too much… Join this bitter-funny play and find out the meaning of sisterhood.
