Spring Events in MI Great Lakes Bay

Can you feel spring in the air?  One of the things that we are excited about spring’s arrival is that lots of events are coming up to show the vibrancy of MI Great Lakes Bay! Following are some highlights of the spring events in MI Great Lakes Bay in March and April. It’s time to plan your visit!

Award-winning and top-rated performances are coming to MI Great Lakes Bay this week! The Tony Award winning show, Ave. Q, is now playing at the MCFTA. Meanwhile, the Celtic music band Millish is coming to Bay City with its energetic performance at State Theatre of Bay City.  The Bay City Players will kick off its 2013 season with the tremendous dark comedy, And Miss Reardon Drinks a Little on January 18.

aMAZEing fun at Pumpkin Patch!



How could fall complete without spending some time at a pumpkin patch or a corn maze? You can definitely buy your pumpkin at the grocery store, but there is so much fun at the pumpkin patch. While picking those pumpkins that match your Halloween home decor, you can also explore the corn maze, feed those cute animals, have cider donuts…and more! For those who haven’t got a chance to have a trip to a pumpkin patch or a corn maze, or just wanted to have another day of fun before it closes, here are some great choices for you in MI Great Lakes Bay.

What’s on Stage in MI Great Lakes Bay



Which one is your favorite: old time music, chocolate wonderland, or peeking someone’s secret? Or, you could have them all! This week, the Broadway musical, Under the Streetlamp is going to bring the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s music to the stage at the Dow Event Center. If you are a fan of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, then you don’t want to miss Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka at the Midland Center for the Arts on Oct 27-28. Meanwhile, The Temple Theatre in Saginaw will host a multimedia play based on the Postsecret website, and you can enjoy a special theatrical experience on Oct 18.

Kid’s Event in MI Great Lakes Bay





Want to fly in the sky?  If that’s one of your kids’ wishes, their dream can come true this Saturday in Midland! The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) offers free airplane rides to children and teens age 8-17.  You can also bring your kids to have a full day fun at the Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum (MMCM) this Saturday. Those cute animals from Children’s Zoo are coming to MMCM on Saturday, and it is a great opportunity to have your kids play with them. In addition, Olive the Playful Pig is going to visit the MMCM again on the same day afternoon!

What’s on Stage in MI Great Lakes Bay



Hi there! Hope all of you have had a wonderful weekend in MI Great Lakes Bay. For those who love musicals, we are excited to bring this good news to you: the Tony-Award-nominated Broadway musical: [title of show] An Original Musical is going to perform at the Midland Center for the Arts (MCFTA) on September 27 – 29! Meanwhile, the Whistling Idiots Comedy Dinner Theatre in Bay City is going to start its second season with a production of Jeff Daniel’s Yooper tale “Escanaba in Da Moonlight” this week, and the former Saturday Night Live comedian, Jim Breuer, is coming to Saginaw's Temple Theatre on September 27.

Fun things to do this weekend in MI Great Lakes Bay



Hi there! Hope all of you have had a wonderful week so far!  We're excited that fall is coming because that means a lineup of great festivals for the month of September! This weekend, you can have an “exotic” afternoon if you are in Saginaw’s Japan Festival. You can also celebrate the early fall with hundreds of visitors at the RE/MAX Midland Balloon Festival, or, join the move while enjoying great music at the City Fest in Downtown Bay City.
