What's on Stage in MI Great Lakes Bay



Have you planned your weekend yet? In addition to Oktoberfest and the Michigan Antique & Collectible Festival, Michigan's largest antique & collectible festival, there are lots of things to do over this weekend in the Great Lakes Bay region. If you more feel like having an indoor entertainment like spending your Saturday evening at a concert or laughing at a comedy show, here are some great choices for you.



Da Yoopers Musical Comedy Show



Date: September 22, 8:00 p.m.
Location: State Theatre of Bay City (913 Washington Avenue Bay City, MI 48708)

The number 1 Fishing, Hunting & Beer Drinking comedy show in the U.S, Da Yoopers, is coming to Bay City this Saturday! Founded in Ishpeming, Michigan, Da Yooper has been famous for its humorous songs and skits, most of which center around life in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for over 30 years. Even if most of its comedies are related to life and culture in the UP, Da Yoopers' music and comedies have been spread to the world and brought smiles and laughter to its audiences outside Midwest.

Da Yoopers has been to the Great Lakes Bay region many times and has made great hits in our region. Da Yoopers is going to bring laughter to our region again at the State Theatre of Bay City on September 22 at 8:00 p.m.  You can buy your ticket at the State Theatre’s website.

Bua: Irish Music Concert


Date: September 22, 7:00 p.m.
Location: White Crow Conservatory of Music  (3736 Mackinaw Road Saginaw Charter Township, MI 48602)

Celtic music lovers can get a taste of a traditional Irish music concert at Saginaw’s White Crow Conservatory of Music on September 22 by the Irish Music Awards winner, Bua. The award-winning band has been acclaimed as one of the most talented Irish bands that plays traditional music with “a precision and intensity that is rarely heard on this side of the Atlantic”. Bua has performed at many of the top Irish and folk festivals in North America, and now you can see it live on stage this Saturday!

The traditional music Bua will make on Saturday evening is the generations-old sort gleaned from old 78rpm records and wax cylinders played on concertinas, bouzoukis, uilleann pipes and fiddles. In addition to great Irish music, you might also have a chance to see some Sean Nós dance, a casual and older style of traditional solo Irish dance.
