This week’s shows in MI Great Lakes Bay are family favorites for kicking off the holiday season. The legendary Oak Ridge Boys will take the stage for one show only as they bring their limited tour, The Oak Ridge Boys Christmas Show, to the Dow Event Center. Meanwhile, the American Idol finalist, Matt Giraud, is coming to the StateTheatre of Bay City to spread some Christmas cheer on November 30, and the family-beloved ballet, The Nutcracker, will bring the Christmas magic to you and your family at the Midland Center for the Arts from November 30 to December 2.

Holiday Events in MI Great Lakes Bay



Christmas spirit is in the air! If you are planning your trip to MI Great Lakes Bay, make sure to join some of the holiday events coming up this Friday and next week! 

Bring the entire family to Chesaning to enjoy the festive atmosphere. The Chesaning Christmas Candlelight Walk will take place this Friday, come and enjoy free horse-drawn carriage rides, Gingerbread House Walk, and more. Meanwhile, the Santa's Village in Chesaning will be open on November 24 – 25, and Saturday's and Sunday's December 1 through December 16, and don’t forget to book your Polar Express train ride while visiting there! 

Speaking of Christmas, it is no way not to mention the Bronner's CHRISTmas Wonderland in Frankenmuth (since there’s literally Christmas time throughout the year:]). From November 23 to December 23, Santa will visit Bronner's CHRISTmas Wonderland. Please note that many children wish to see Santa on Saturdays and Sundays. Guests should anticipate a wait.

Fun things to do in MI Great Lakes Bay this weekend

If your kids (or even you) are huge fans of Lego, bring them to the Mid-Michigan Children's Museum (MMCM) this Saturday to let their creativity go wild! Or, you can also bring them to the State Theatre of BayCity to see the movie, Polar Express. Admission to the movie is either a non-perishable food item or a new unwrapped toy to benefit local charities.

Meanwhile, the State Theatre of Bay City is bringing its annual vaudeville show back on stage this Saturday. The show including magic show, comedy, dance performance, quartet, and more, is family friendly and for all ages.

If you are a fan of haunted house or haunted TV shows, get ready for the premier of A Haunting on Potter Street at Saginaw’s Temple Theatre this weekend. The film crew of the movie is the first one who has been granted permission to enter the massive and mysterious Potter Street Station of Saginaw, Michigan, and now it is time to watch the haunting evidence unfold!

Meanwhile, your kids’s favorite characters from the Disney’s Phineas and Freb escape from TV screen and are coming to Saginaw this Saturday for a live tour. It would be your kids’ dream come true to watch their favorite characters on stage and spend a whole afternoon seeing them dance and sing!

Kid’s Event in MI Great Lakes Bay





Want to fly in the sky?  If that’s one of your kids’ wishes, their dream can come true this Saturday in Midland! The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) offers free airplane rides to children and teens age 8-17.  You can also bring your kids to have a full day fun at the Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum (MMCM) this Saturday. Those cute animals from Children’s Zoo are coming to MMCM on Saturday, and it is a great opportunity to have your kids play with them. In addition, Olive the Playful Pig is going to visit the MMCM again on the same day afternoon!

What’s on Stage in MI Great Lakes Bay



Lots of great shows are coming to MI Great Lakes Bay this week! The Leading Ladies has started its series of performance at Bay City Players last Friday. You can enjoy this classic comedy through Oct 14. Meanwhile, the Dow Event Center brings a series of Broadway shows to Saginaw, and the Nunset Boulevard is going to take place tonight! For those who are interested in Chinese acrobat show, the Golden Dragon Acrobats is going to make you WOW on October 13 at the Temple Theatre in Saginaw. If you would like to enjoy your Saturday night with great swing music, you don’t want to miss the Saginaw Elite Big Band’s great performance at the State Theatre of Bay City.

Fall Family Fun at Apple Orchards in MI Great Lakes Bay



What is a better dessert than a cider donut or a gourmet apple in fall? Even if this year's apple crop is down due to weather condition, the apple orchards in MI Great Lakes Bay still secure great quality apples, bakery, cider…and a full day family fun for you! Some of the orchards might still have some u-pick apples now (but not many). If you are interested in picking up your apples, you have to hurry up, and don’t forget to call them before your go. :]

Events for Family & Kids This Weekend




Are you looking for some fun things to do with your kids this weekend? The Farm Frenzy Weekend at Splash Village is going to bring the farm fun back to Frankenmuth this weekend.  In the meantime, the River of Time is going to sweep Bay City into the past through live reenactments this weekend. The event attracted 30,000 visitors last year, and it is a great opportunity to learn more about the history while having lots of fun at the event. You can also bring your kids to join the Safety Day: Kid-Friendly Safety Tips hosted by the Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum.

For those who love musicals, we are excited to bring this good news to you: the Tony-Award-nominated Broadway musical: [title of show] An Original Musical is going to perform at the Midland Center for the Arts (MCFTA) on September 27 – 29! Meanwhile, the Whistling Idiots Comedy Dinner Theatre in Bay City is going to start its second season with a production of Jeff Daniel’s Yooper tale “Escanaba in Da Moonlight” this week, and the former Saturday Night Live comedian, Jim Breuer, is coming to Saginaw's Temple Theatre on September 27.
