What’s on Stage in MI Great Lakes Bay



Which one is your favorite: old time music, chocolate wonderland, or peeking someone’s secret? Or, you could have them all! This week, the Broadway musical, Under the Streetlamp is going to bring the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s music to the stage at the Dow Event Center. If you are a fan of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, then you don’t want to miss Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka at the Midland Center for the Arts on Oct 27-28. Meanwhile, The Temple Theatre in Saginaw will host a multimedia play based on the Postsecret website, and you can enjoy a special theatrical experience on Oct 18.

Post Secret - The Play

Location: The Temple Theatre (203 N. Washington Ave, Saginaw, MI 48607)

If you have a secret to tell, who will you talk to? Your friends? Family? Or write down your secret on a postcard and send to someone you don’t know? You probably never think about the last option, but millions of people have sent their secret to the PostSecret, one of the most popular sites with more than half a billion hits.

The Temple Theatre will host a special performance of a new multimedia, theatrical experience based on the popular PostSecret website. The Temple Theatre is one of a select number of theatres across the country chosen as a site for development of the PostSecret Play. This stage adaptation presents a kaleidoscopic view of PostSecret, featuring real-life stories of how the project has impacted the lives of people around the world and dozens of never-before-seen postcards. It incorporates music, animation and live actors to bring these moving stories to the stage.
